M.N.H. (Milou) Hintzen

Why are you working at Hertoghs?

At Hertoghs, we work at top level. That really appeals to me. It encourages you to deliver good quality work. In doing so, we offer our clients the best possible legal assistance. For me, it is important that when a client approaches us with a problem, we can achieve the best possible result. All of our colleagues have the same drive and as a team we work towards the maximum outcome together. This provides a good and inspiring working atmosphere in which I feel quite at home.

What attracts you in Hertoghs’ areas of expertise?

At Hertoghs, it’s the combination of two worlds that attracts me: tax and criminal law. We deal with complex technical issues. At the same time, it’s our client that has a problem with the authorities which we’re trying to solve. So, legal complexity meets the real world: solving an entrepreneur’s conflict with the authorities.

What is your particular expertise and how did you develop it?

I studied criminal law and tax law. My interest therefore focuses on criminal tax cases. Previously, I worked as a tax advisor at a tax consultancy firm and I enjoy sinking my teeth into complex, cross-border tax cases.

What is your definition of a good attorney?

Someone who finds it challenging to solve a complex puzzle. Who fights for his client's interests while using creative solutions.

What can you share about your private life?

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the beach in The Hague. As a true bourgondian, I also like to go out for a good meal.
